Djurgarden lost 1-2 at home to IF Elfsborg in the Allsvenskan on September 20. A late winner from Simon Olsson in the 76th minute decided the match despite a second-half equaliser from the hosts.
Jani Honkavaara's side controlled 55 percent of possession but created few clear chances. Elfsborg took the lead just before half-time through Rasmus Wikström. Djurgarden raised their intensity after the break and found the equaliser in the 66th minute. Jacob Une Larsson made it 1-1 following a cross from Kristian Strømland Lien, who now has 15 goals this season.
The decisive blow came fifteen minutes later. Alexander Jensen found Simon Olsson who slotted home for 1-2. Djurgarden pushed for a second equaliser with substitutes like Oskar Fallenius and Alhassan Yusuf Abdulmalik, but could not find a way through.
The defeat means Djurgarden remain in third place in the Allsvenskan with 41 points from 22 games. They are ten points behind leaders Sirius. Recent form had been excellent with four wins in the last five matches, but this loss ends that winning run.
