Four players from Djurgarden's first team have received call-ups to their respective U21 national teams for September. Bo Hegland, Charlie Rosenqvist, Matias Siltanen and Christos Almyras are all set to feature in European Championship qualifiers.
The U21 call-ups
Bo Hegland has been selected for Norway's U21 squad. They will face the Netherlands at home on 25 September, Bosnia-Herzegovina away on 29 September and Israel away on 6 October. Hegland, often referred to as the assist king, provided an assist in the 2-0 win over Gais last weekend.
Charlie Rosenqvist is in Sweden's U21 squad. He made his debut in June and will now play against Poland in Katowice on 30 September and North Macedonia in Falkenberg on 5 October. Matias Siltanen will represent Finland's U21s. They play Spain at home on 25 September, Romania away on 30 September and Kosovo away on 6 October.
Christos Almyras is expected to be part of Greece's U21 squad, which has not yet been officially announced. Greece face Georgia away on 26 September, Lithuania at home on 1 October and Northern Ireland away on 6 October.
Strong form ahead of the break
The call-ups come as Djurgarden are in excellent form. The team sits second in Allsvenskan with 41 points from 21 games and has won its last five matches. The most recent victory was 2-0 against Gais, with both Hegland and Kristian Lien scoring. Lien is the team's top scorer this season with 15 goals.
After the international break, a tough match against IF Elfsborg at home awaits on 20 September. Elfsborg currently sit fourth in the table.
