Djurgarden won 1-0 against German side VfL Osnabrück in a pre-season friendly on Friday. The decisive goal arrived in the 55th minute via an own goal from a home defender.
The match served as part of the preparations for the resumption of the Allsvenskan season. Djurgarden, who sit third in the league with 41 points from 22 games, controlled proceedings and created the better chances. They kept a clean sheet in a solid defensive display.
Building towards the derby
The victory means the team enters the final phase of pre-season with four wins from their last five outings. The next and final friendly is away against Hammarby FF on October 11th, a derby that also represents a direct top-of-the-table clash.
After the break, league action resumes and Djurgarden are in a strong position. The team has scored 47 goals this season, with Kristian Strømland Lien leading the scoring charts with 15. All focus now turns to the meeting with Hammarby at Tele2 Arena in eight days' time.
