Djurgården has officially signed 18-year-old left-back Lucca Gentil from Brazilian club Sfera FC. Gentil, who has played in several high-profile Brazilian academies such as Palmeiras, Corinthians and São Paulo FC, has signed a contract that runs until the 2030 season.

Under the contract, Gentil will first play for Djurgården’s PA19 team. He will eventually be promoted to the first team, giving the club a structured environment to develop him.

"I am very happy to sign for Djurgården. I feel very motivated by this opportunity and look forward to representing DIF," Gentil says in a statement to the club’s website. He continues: "I have read that Djurgården has won many titles and I have watched some clips of the supporters. There is also a chant that comes from Brazil, I have heard."

Football director Mamimilian Hahn comments on the new signing: "A versatile player who brings great tactical flexibility to our left side, and we are very enthusiastic about his potential," he says. Hahn adds: "This transfer also represents a first step in building what we hope will become a strong, long-term relationship with his former club Sfera FC, whose record in youth development is outstanding."

Gentil’s background in several Brazilian academies has given him a broad technical and tactical foundation. The club has emphasised that his experience from Palmeiras, Corinthians and São Paulo FC makes him a player capable of quickly adapting to Swedish football.

Djurgården has won many titles over the years, and with Gentil’s arrival the club hopes to strengthen its left-back line and lay the groundwork for future successes. Gentil is ready to start training with the youth squad and looks forward to contributing to the club’s ambitions.
