AIK's midfielder Amel Mujanic receives a yellow card against Örgryte in Allsvenskan and misses the derby match against his former club Djurgården next Sunday. The incident occurred after Mujanic was involved in a confrontation with Öis Benjamin Laturnus, resulting in a yellow card for him.
– Onödigt, skulle jag säga. Löp i kapp i stället för att fuska och riva ner, said TV expert Jens Fjellström on the broadcast.
Mujanic now finds himself on the sideline against Djurgården, but he remains optimistic about his availability for the match. – I knew he was waiting for me to make contact, so I ended up touching him a bit. I thought: “What the heck.” I could feel that he would give me a yellow card, said the 25-year-old.
– What am I supposed to say? It’s the referee who makes the decision. I get a yellow card. We have an entire training week ahead of us and I will help the boys from the sidelines. They will do a good job, said Mujanic.
For Mujanic, it was otherwise a great evening. He got revenge for the 0-3 defeat against his former club in their last match six days ago. All points are important, but Mujanic believes that AIK is playing very well over the past twenty-five matches. We are getting into the game we want to play and we manage to win.
For AIK, all thirteen players were unavailable for the match against Örgryte, but at least Johan Hove will return for the match against Djurgården, who was sidelined in the previous match. Left-back Lukas Berquist was substituted with Adrian Helm after 45 minutes of play against Örgryte, but it was tactical and no injury.
– There was no injury, “peppar, peppar,” said coach José Riveiro at the press conference after the match and slapped his hand on the table twice.
