Djurgarden's three new signings are cleared to play. The club confirmed on Tuesday that work and residence permits for Abdul Abdulmalik, Lucca Gentil and Angelo Agbejoye have been approved by the Swedish Migration Board. This means all three players can make their first appearances for the team in tomorrow's Swedish Cup match against IFK Haninge.
"The club now announces that residence and work permits have been approved by the Migration Board." Djurgarden said in a statement.
Three new names
Abdul Abdulmalik, 23, was signed from English side Boreham Woods for a fee of nearly 20 million Swedish kronor. The quick winger has been waiting for his paperwork since his arrival. The 18-year-old Brazilian full-back Lucca Gentil has also had his documents cleared. The third player is Angelo Agbejoye, 19, who signed for Djurgarden back in June but whose work permit has only now been finalized.
Form is strong
The news comes as Djurgarden are in excellent form. The team sits second in Allsvenskan with 38 points from 20 games and is on a five-match winning streak. The most recent victory was a 7-1 away win against IFK Haninge last week, where Agbejoye even scored. The club now has a squad that becomes even deeper with the new available players.
After tomorrow's cup match, a league break awaits before the next Allsvenskan fixture away to IF Brommapojkarna on October 18.
