Djurgarden will travel to southern Germany for a training camp in early October and play a friendly match against VfL Osnabrück. The camp runs from October 1st to 4th, with the match scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd at 15:30.
Sporting director Maximilian Hahn confirmed the plans. "In connection with the transfer of Lukas, we agreed to play a friendly match against Osnabrück and organise a short training camp so we can mobilise for the final stretch of the Allsvenskan," he said.
An important test
The camp comes right after a break in league play that begins following the home game against Elfsborg on September 20th. The goal is to use the time effectively. "It will be a fantastic opportunity to test new tactical ideas, fully integrate our new signings from the late transfer window, and give our academy players valuable experience of the environment around the first team," explained Hahn.
He is also looking forward to facing strong opposition. "We look forward to getting all this in place and also getting to play against strong opposition." the sporting director said.
Personal connection
The match gains an extra dimension through goalkeeper Lukas Jonsson, who played for VfL Osnabrück before joining Djurgarden this summer. The arrangement with the camp and match was part of the agreement regarding his transfer.
The club has already provided information for travelling supporters. Tickets will be available for the Sparkasse Osnabrück-Nordtribüne, Affenfelsen, Ostkurve, and the away section. The match will be played in Osnabrück in western Germany.
Gearing up for the final push
