Djurgarden have confirmed that striker Kalipha Jawla will be loaned to Öster for the rest of the season. The 20-year-old, whose contract with the Stockholm club expires in December, leaves Dif after a successful loan spell at Nordic United, where he scored eight goals.

What happens to Jawla?

Kalipha Jawla joins Öster on loan after proving himself in Superettan with Nordic United. Djurgarden's football director Maximilian Hahn says the move is good for the player, who will continue to play at a high level.

Why is Jawla leaving Djurgarden?

Djurgarden coach Jai Honkavaara confirmed that the club offers Jawla a place as second striker behind Kristian Lien, but that it is better for the player to find his own path. Öster's sporting director Ola Larsson sees Jawla as a premium player at the Superettan level.

What does this mean for Djurgarden?

With Jawla on loan, Djurgarden focus on staying in the top tier of Allsvenskan. The club is currently in fourth place with 6 points after three rounds (2W-0D-1L) and is just one point behind leaders IF Elfsborg. The next match is at home against AIK Stockholm on August 16.
