Djurgarden sells striker Zakaria Sawo to Qarabag for around five million kronor. Sawo has been on loan to AEL Limassol in Cyprus where he scored nine goals in 18 matches. It is not Cyprus that he is leaving for. After Sportbladets revelation, it is clear that Azerbaijani Qarabag buys out the Swede. – It feels good and I look forward to joining Qarabag. An exciting step and a new environment for me, says Sawo to the club's website. In line with Sportbladets information, he is sold for around five million kronor. When he was bought last winter, he is said to have cost around 15 million kronor. But the success in blue did not materialize. After 18 appearances in Dif's jersey, the striker was loaned out in the winter, back to the Cyprus he left for Djurgarden. – It has gone well for me in the Cypriot league this spring and I got out my potential. Nice that it became a lot of goals and I made many good matches, where we also made it to the semifinals in the cup, says Sawo. In Qarabag, there is the former Djurgarden striker Musa Gurbanli. The team has managed to qualify for the Champions League several times in recent years, last under the current season where it was a disappointment in the league. Despite not being as Sawo had thought in Djurgarden, he thanks for his time in the club. – The time in Djurgarden was educational for me and I am very grateful to have been a part of Dif. I wish all players, leaders and the entire Djurgarden family a big good luck ahead. It became a goal on 18 matches in blue.
